Hi. I did think that the wording of my letter from Greg Combet was different to the wording of the other ALP letters but a comparison this afternoon reveals that it is the same,

    John Halliday, MP Ballarat
    Dear Wendy
Thank you for contacting our office on the very important matter of school librarians and libraries.
The Gillard Labor Government believes qualified teacher librarians can be an asset in any school.
They assist schools to offer a diversity of reading material, digital resources and learning programs. While the Government provides funding for schools, the day-to-day management of schools and allocation of staff, including teacher librarians, is the responsibility of the government and non-government education authorities in each state and territory.
The Federal Parliament is currently conducting a parliamentary inquiry into the role, adequacy and resourcing of school libraries and teacher librarians. The Gillard Labor Government looks forward to the findings of the inquiry.
As part of the Labor’s $16.2 billion Building the Education Revolution program, we have built over 3,000 libraries across the country helping thousands of kids enjoy the wonder of reading.
Once again thank you for raising this issue.
    Kind Regards,
    John Halliday

Thank you for your letter to The Nationals relating to qualified teacher librarians in schools.
The Nationals support the proper training and resourcing of all teachers to ensure that they have the qualifications, experience and resources to do their job.
We will give more flexibility to school boards and principals to determine the priorities for their local area, including where resources need to be allocated.
The policy covers a range of other issues that will be of interest. You may wish to visit our website on www.nationals.org.au and go to the policy section where our Regional Education Policy is set out in detail.
    Regards,
    Michael

    Hello Audrey,
I believe we can answer this in the affirmative. The
Greens have been a strong voice for education and the NSW Teachers Federation
scorecard sees the Greens as the leaders in this area. Dr John Kaye our
NSW MLC is NSW spokesperson for education and an great advocate of all things
    educational including librarians.
Rest assured that should Dominic win the seat of Cowper this will be on his
    agenda.
Thank you again for alerting us of this and we wish you well.
    Best wishes,
